Nesting Mode

I really think my nesting mode has started to kick in since last two weekends..I mean a huge one..Last weekend was spent mostly on clearing unused stuffs and basic cleaning.

So, me and hubby managed to clear old bills, old books, documents, newpapers and magazines. Managed to sell them off to recycle person and still there's more, which I'll wait for next round. And then I managed to store some Nazif's clothes which no longer fits, and also put aside my old clothes ( which some are dated back to 10 years back) to give them away.

Some info about Nesting Instinct/ Mode from Parenting Weekly:

Around the fifth month of pregnancy, the "nesting" instinct can set in. This is an uncontrollable urge to clean one's house brought on by a desire to prepare a nest for the new baby, to tie up loose ends of old projects and to organize your world.

Females of the animal kingdom are all equipped with this same need. It is a primal instinct. Just as you see birds making their nests, mothers-to-be do exactly the same thing. The act of nesting puts you in control and gives a sense of accomplishment toward birth. You may become a homebody and want to retreat into the comfort of home and familiar company, like a brooding hen. The nesting urge can also be seen as a sign of the onset of labor when it occurs close to 40 weeks of pregnancy.
Nesting brings about some unique and seemingly irrational behaviors in pregnant women and all of them experience it differently. Women have reported throwing away perfectly good sheets and towels because they felt the strong need to have "brand new, clean" sheets and towels in their home. They have also reported doing things like taking apart the knobs on kitchen cupboards, just so they could disinfect the screws attached to the knobs. Women have discussed taking on cleaning their entire house, armed with a toothbrush ( I mopped/sweep with cloth..haha) . There seems to be no end to the lengths a nesting mother will go to prepare for her upcoming arrival.

This unusual burst of energy is responsible for women ironing anything in the house that couldn't out run them. Being preoccupied with ant killing, squishing them one at a time for weeks on end. Packing and unpacking the labor bag 50 times. Cleaning the kitchen cupboards and organizing everything by size to the point that you make sure the silverware patterns match when it's stacked in the cutlery drawer. Sorting the baby's clothes over and over again is a favorite theme. Taking them out of the drawers and re-folding them, putting them away and doing it over and over again. Nesting will provide interesting stories for years to come.

So, especially to dear hubby, now you know why I kept goading you to do this and that. Please entertain these just for a couple of weeks more.Hehe..btw way I'm hoping I could realized my verangan that I mentioned before..

Latest Book - Dear John

When there's nothing else to write, this topic is a savior! Well, luckily I managed to finish this book a few days back.

 Image Googled

 The book description:

An angry rebel, John dropped out of school and enlisted in the Army, not knowing what else to do with his life—until he meets the girl of his dreams, Savannah. Their mutual attraction quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah waiting for John to finish his tour of duty, and John wanting to settle down with the woman who captured his heart. But 9/11 changes everything. John feels it is his duty to re-enlist. And sadly, the long separation finds Savannah falling in love with someone else. "Dear John," the letter read...and with those two words, a heart was broken and two lives were changed forever. Returning home, John must come to grips with the fact that Savannah, now married, is still his true love—and face the hardest decision of his life.

My verdict:
This is my first book from Nicholas Spark. The story was kinda ok. I considered it very slow-paced and I was in no rush to finish it..The book was divided into three parts which I already forget...

But here the things you'll learn from this book. They were like a Malay saying "Cinta Tak Semestinya Bersatu", and "Berkorban Apa Saja". Hehehe..

PS: So far, the same genre book that made me cried even after reading it twice was Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson.

Baby #2 Preparation

Last time, I already put up the list of things for baby no 2..
These are the items in red and nice-to-have which I have extracted ..

*Feeding Bottles and  teat ( I have no particular brand to go for..tak beli lagi)

* Breast Pump (My medela mini-E still in good condition. But I'm thinking of having a dual-pump this time, hopefully Medela FS like my sister is using, sungguh menarik!)  Alhamdulilah, I managed to order one with best deal..waiting for the arrival !!

* Breastmilk Storage Containers / Bags ( Storage-not yet, Bag- Check!)

*Bedding Co-ordinates (Cot Bumpers, Fitted Sheets, Comforters, Pillow &Bolsters) - Am thinking of getting one new set for the baby, except for the cot bumper. Kesian nak pakai yg abang punya..

* Bath Tub ( Need to get one, last time Nazif used his cousin's)

* Bath Seat / Bath Bed / Bath Net ( Need to get one, permintaan TokMama)

* Nursery Bag With Foldable Changing Mat (Emmm..nak yg baru boleh?)

* Confinement set (Last time I used Nona Roguy, this time I'm thinking of trying another brand, Any Suggestions?)

* Pads (I vote for Kotex!)

* Socks(Nak yg baru!)

So, it looks like a lot have been slashed..I even topped up some other items like baby's clothing, towels and breast pad.

Over the weekend, I managed to sort out Nazif's old clothing and washed them..Yeay me!

This is only one-third of the hand-me-down..perghh..

Dah boleh bernapas dgn lega sikit..

Some other wish list:

The Weekend Where Someone Turns 25 Months

Last Saturday, Nazif turned to 25 months..kojap ajo...it seems like only a few days back that we were celebrating his birthday.

 My cheeky not-so-little-boy

For his birthday, his Daddy bought him a bicycle! Haih..I can't believe that my son can ride on a bicycle now..you look like such a big boy. I'll put up the video later..hehe..

And he knows how to open the refrigerator now..umm..no more place for hiding food. And he likes to categorize ( not sure if its the right word here..) things according to someone's possession..e.g. Bottle A is Mummy's and Bottle B is Daddy's. His right hand is Daddy's (for scratching purpose) and left hand is Mummy's. Then stripe cushion is Daddy's and checkered cushion is Mummy's..see? Its like there's always Nazif punya, Mummy punya, Daddy punya...

HFMD Update

Today is day 4/5 since Nazif was down with HFM. Alhamdulilah, he's getting better. The ulcers in his mouth are getting smaller too.

Monday was the worst. He refused to drink his milk at all.Actually he did asked for milk, but the moment the teat touched his mouth, he cried. The same thing happened to any food that he initially wanted to eat, but he can't. My parents who were babysitting him were totally worried. Ye lah, all this while he had a good appetite. And lastly the only food and drink that he can swallow were vitagen and jelly. So you can imagine how hungry this boy can be, which made him sleepless that night. Imagine, he slept for 10 minutes, then he woke up..and the cycle went on from 10 pm to 2am. Then 4 am and 6 am.. I was totally bonked out!

Yesterday, he got better. Managed to eat a little bit of porridge, drank Milo, drank plain water and even finished two bottles of milk. That's it. Result? Better sleep pattern last night.

As of today, I really hope he could take his meal as before. The lesions on his feet and buttocks too are getting better. Insya-Allah.

A Wet and Wild Weekend..

Hehhe..Our weekend was spent in Bukit Gambang Resort City, in Kuantan. It was fun, fun, fun !(Ikut lagu Barney..).

The trip started on Saturday and exactly at 12 noon we departed from home. And being the F1-driver-wannabe, daddy got us there in just 2.5 hours. Luckily, there's no speed trap! Since check-in time was at 3pm, we went for our lunch at the coffee house first. Oh we were not alone in trip, its kinda small family day with office colleagues.
The room :Nazif as usual the bed tester (gamba tak ambik habis rupanya)

We stayed at Carribean Bay Suite, Studio room. The room was comfortable enough, with a big bathroom. At around 5 pm, Nazif was all prepared for his swim at the pool..he's been pestering us ever since we arrived..nak air..nak air..! And there you got it! As for me, I'm just the mak-dugong-di-tepian-kolam..hehe..oh I had beramah-mesra time with other colleagues wifeys while eating rambutan.

Nazif was terrified of the horse..apa lah..

After dinner that night, we had group photo session and later on proceed to mini funfair! Yup, you heard me, they had all those rides and games..which as for me mak hanya mampu merenung sambil teringin nak main...huhu..As for Nazif, he refused to be in any of the rides even the slowmo train, which Mummy keeps bugging him to try..(sebenarnya mak dia yg nak naik..hahaha).

The next day, right after breakfast, off we went to the Waterpark!

Mummy and Nazif

Fun in the water with Daddy

At first Nazif was afraid of the water, its our mistake, for taking him to the Coco beach which had waves yg ganas. But later when we switched to kiddy pool, haa..baru lah serasi! Again, I'm just being the dayang-di-tepian, hehe..

Our trip ended when we checked out and later on had our lunch at the coffee house again for the last time. By this time Nazif had started to get cranky..due to tiredness and his early symptom of HFM..

Capek aka Penat aka Tired

We had a fun, and wet weekend. More stories to come later on..

My boy had HFMD..very kesian one. Got ulcers in his mouth which results in less feeding -> hungry -> and leads to a very cranky boy ->tired mummy & daddy..

Oh.BTW, Congrats to SPAIN for winning the World Cup!

Verangan Mode..

If only time and budget are in my hands, macam-macam mak buyung ni teringin.

One of them, is to makeover the room downstairs into mini-nursery. Right now, the room can be considered as multi-purpose room. The room is our praying room, mini library and baby's storage room. Huhu..byk tuh..

What could be done to the room:
1. A fresh coat of paint, instead of default paint color which spells B-O-R-I-N-G.
2. A set of new curtain, preferably colorful.
3. A new carpet, also colorful.
4. Rearrange the cupboards and drawers and if possible all of them in same color.

But in the end, this is still the multi-purpose room but with facelift..hehe..

So, Encik Hubby, will you do this for me? * Kelip-kelip mata*

Superman or What?

Ever since I've started driving again, I easily became irritated with 'kiasu' drivers..not to say I'm a perfect driver, but tried as I may to oblige to be a good driver.

I hate drivers  who's smsing while driving. Be it car or motor..
I hate road bullies.

And last night I found out the ultimate one so far in my list.
A driver who's eating while driving... I know its not unusual.
But what makes it unusual was, one hand he's holding the polisterine case and the other holding the spoon. So tell me, which hands he's using to hold his steering wheel? His third arm?? Is this man superman or what?

What made me really pi**ed off, just a second before that, I was pitying on him because one Mercedes rudely overtook him...konon2 geram kat road bully lah.. Tgk-tgk 2x 5 jugak..

Latest Book - Tell Me Your Dreams

Looks like trying to catch up with my reading list this year. So, Tell Me Your Dreams is the latest book that I've just finished.

Imaged Googled
The book description:

Computer whiz Ashley Patterson is convinced she is being stalked. Coworker Toni Prescott has a penchant for Internet dating and little time for anyone else. And Alette Peters prefers quiet weekends in the arms of a beefcake artist. They know virtually nothing about each other--until the three women are linked by a murder investigation that will lead to one of the most bizarre trials of the century.

My verdict:
Its like any other Sidney Sheldon book, very fast paced..which means I like it! Can hardly put the book down once you started reading it.This time it deals with murder case which is done by a person with MPD ( Multiple Personality Disorder)..very eerie indeed. Imagine you are accused of murder you thought you didn't do, but the evidence told you another thing..Whoopsy..tercerita plak...and the rest, sila lah baca sendiri..hehe..

So I have these books waiting to be read or already half way read:
1. Cocktails for Three - Madelaine Wickham
2. Dear John - Nicholas Spark
3. The Princess
4. Patricia Cormwell book ( which I forget the title)
5. Lafazkan Kalimah Cintamu  - Siti Rosmizah's new book

And so far I've read:
1. Inspector Singh Investigates
2. Picture Perfect - Jodi Picoult
3 .For One More Day - Mitch Albom
4. Tell Me Your Dreams

Emm..still I am long way from  one book per month.

He slept for a while in the car, but as soon as we reached home he was totally recharged and did not sleep at all!! But he looked very sleepy indeed, his eyes were half shut and droopy, but no he did not sleep!

The Preparation - Part Two

This time its not about baby's preparation.

Its about RAYA preparation. Too early?I guess not. You see, most probably I'll be having this baby before Raya. Well considering my due date will be on 17 Sept, which is a week from Raya. Last time, I had Nazif, he's 10 days early from his due date.

And Ramadhan is just a month away.

So far, hubby's and Nazif Baju Melayus have been sent to respective tailors. And for me, for backup purpose also sent my materials to tailor. Just in case I'm still mak buyung, I have one attire prepared. So that should be enough. And for Nazif's other casual wear, I still have some clothes from Bandung shopping and maybe I need to top up just a few more ..just in case.

In other department, food and such..nmpk gaya macam malas nak order. Oh, duit raya still I have to stand by.

What else? And definitely no long travelling for balik kampung. So we'll be celebrating in Seremban.
