The First Years Captured in Photobook..

Finally, I received my much awaited photobook yeay!! And I love it to bits!!

It documents most of Nazif's pictures during his first year. Insya-Allah if time permits, I will try to continue doing this for his many years to come. And maybe for my other children too..hehehe..its the best way to compile digital pictures that I've taken but not printed, don't you think?

Oh this is not my first time doing the photobook. I used to do a pocketbook for our travel moments a few years back.

Oh I have forgotten. The photobook is from Pixart. I am satisfied with the service, the price is reasonable and it came with free downloaded software. The best thing is, it came with many different themes and for this book, I've chosen the Baby Blue Theme..so go ahead and try it yourself!

My Story of Getting Pregnant - Part V

Wow..its been quite sometime that I haven't wrote seriously. Ok now to continue my story after my HSG test.

Well the result turned out that I had a condition called RETROVERTED uterus. Its something like people having 'right-hand' uterus' versus 'left-hand' uterus. So mine is like the 'left-hand' uterus. Its a natural condition not something that happened accidentally. So it doesn't mean I cannot be pregnant, I still can but we had to try pretty hard.

Since then, I started to find more information about the special condition. This has not dampen our spirit. We even seek to traditional and alternative medicines. As far as I recalled, we have been to three different makcik uruts, even as far as Kelantan. We also tried reflexology treatment, ate all kinds of vitamins, air penawar and what nots.

So we've stopped seeing doctors for quite sometime. I was hit pretty hard with the last experience and that's why we resorted to traditional method for a while. And then we got busy with our new house that we just put back our plan behind our mind, hoping and praying that our 'busyness' would make us more relax and not thinking hard about conceiving.

My Story of Getting Pregnant - Part IV

I hope this post is not yet boring..if so..you can stop here..hahahaha..

In the last post, I said I was traumatic.

Why?

All this while, my mind have been set to just have female doctors to attend to my problem. You can't help yourself undergoing this treatment if you are 'shy' when somebody had to check you 'down' there.

So, on the morning of the scheduled test, we arrived at the SMC. I was ushered to a changing room inside the x-ray room, told to change into hospital gown and to wait for the radiologist. So I did as I was told and calmly waited. All this while hubby was outside waiting..so, no moral support there.

And so I waited,
..
..
..
..
..
..
..

And a radiologist came in..and its a MAN!! And of course there's a lady nurse assisting. But still I'm not ready for this! All this while I was thinking its going to be a lady ( because I personally asked the doctor, and it seems she conned me lah)

Gosh I was panicked. To back out from the test seems impossible. Nak tak nak I have to make it..so with heavy heart..I shut my eyes and do the test..

It was painful! Emm..more to senak actually..painful because it was combined with shyness..In order to finish the test quickly..so try to relax if not it will take longer time.

My Story of Getting Pregnant - Part III

Wow..still a long way to go..its already part three..

The seminal analysis was successfully done and the result was okay. Its all normal in simple terms, hehehe..

Then for the next step, the doctor at the panel clinic suggested us to see the specialist for further check up. And so we then decided to meet Dr Siti Esah in SMC ( now KPJ Selangor). Why her, and not the infamous HE doctor? At that time well, we felt that try as we may to go to ladies doctor if possible..

During the check-up we brought along the results of both tests ( the blood sample and seminal) for the doctor's reference. This is important in order for us not to undergo such test again in the short period of time..its time consuming you know..hehehe..the costs are not that much but still you have to fork out something, right?

So, the specialist did the ultrasound, ok jugak. I was prescribed with two cycles of Clomid and she suggested for another test called the HSG (Histerosalpingogram).

A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is an X-ray test that looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them.
During a hysterosalpingogram, a dye (contrast material) is put through a thin tube that is put through the vagina and into the uterus. Because the uterus and the fallopian tubes are hooked together, the dye will flow into the fallopian tubes. Pictures are taken using a steady beam of X-ray (fluoroscopy) as the dye passes through the uterus and fallopian tubes. The pictures can show problems such as an injury or abnormal structure of the uterus or fallopian tubes, or a blockage that would prevent an egg moving through a fallopian tube to the uterus. A blockage also could prevent sperm from moving into a fallopian tube and joining (fertilizing) an egg. A hysterosalpingogram also may find problems on the inside of the uterus that prevent a fertilized egg from attaching (implanting) to the uterine wall.
This test is done to find whether I had a blocked fallopian tube or to find problems in my uterus.

So we set an appointment for the test to be done. If I'm not mistaken the cost for the HSG at that time was RM 200.

So, any tips for having the test? Umm..have an open mind and try to relax yourself.

For me it was quite a traumatic experience. Not physically but emotionally.

13 Months Young

It feels like just a few days ago that we celebrated his 1st birthday. And now he turned into another month! Gosh..I'm appalled at the time that just flew in front of my eyes!

Here are some of the things about Nazif's development:

1. He's walking, a few days before he 's one. Checked. And about to run anytime soon. Will follow Mummy and Daddy to almost everywhere! Now we need to close every single door.

2. His vocabulary is getting better. Here are some of the words that I can grab. Other than that, it was babbles!
  • ball is ball/anything with round shape/anything that swirl like a ball. One time we were at supermarket and he saw a watermelon and said 'B-A-L-L'. Ape2 lah labu..
  • fo-wer is flower
  • cat is cat..
  • bird is bird/cat..yeah he got confuse sometimes
  • tup is tutup..refers to tutup botol, tutup lampu..but s'times tutup also means bukak.
  • nenen refers to mummy's booo-bies..
3. Know how to salam and cium tgn..(good practise dear son..raya dah dokat ni haaa..!)

4. Wants to eat on his own.

5. Can drink using straw.

6. When we say, 'Mana gigi?', he would point to his mouth..okla..dah dekat2 ngan gigi lah tu..

Alhamdullilah.

*Under Construction*

In the process of changing the blog template..

Will be right back.

My Story of Getting Pregnant - Part II

Ok, the last post was about the blood test to check the level of LH and FSH.

So the result turned out to be ok. I am considered normal meaning my follicle generates eggs that can be fertilized by a sperm. In simple word I'm ovulating!..( this reminds me of Monica in Friends).

Then, what should we do next?

The doctor suggested before we further poked the wife with many more procedures..and there's a few of it, its the hubby's turn to be checked. That's simply because the man only needs ONE test to check on their fertility..and that would be SEMINAL analysis.

For further information, you can clicked on the above link.

Where can you have this test done?
Well, you can go to any pathology lab to have this test done. Some of the labs in Malaysia are

And, the doctor refers us to BP Lab in Subang Jaya ( we were living in USJ at that time). And there is a pre-requisite before having the test done..and I'm gonna say this straight forwardly..by not being intimate for 3 days.

Ok one thing to remind beforehand, please don't expect these lab to have the facility like you see in the movie -- having blue film or whatsoever to stimulate the process. The best thing that you can get is a clean toilet..yupp..I don't know about the others that have gone through this, but in our case its the toilet. So wife, please support your husband by any means.

For this, I am really grateful that my husband has been really open minded, supportive and willing to got through the obstacles. Not every man can do this you know.

Ok, I'm done for now.

My Story of Getting Pregnant

I was browsing through my blogs' entries -- the writer's block, remember? Suddenly I realized, why I have not blog about my experience on becoming pregnant? The procedures that I've gone through..and the emotional turmoil that was part of it. I've got quite a number of stories and maybe some tips on some procedures regarding infertility treatment.

Image from Google

Okay first things first.

When you should go for fertility treatment??
Well according to most fertility dictionary, a couple should seek for a treatment after a year of marriage ( for the wife below the age of 30) and six months after marriage (for the wife whose age above 30)..

Why different time for different age?
This is because, women's fertility period began deteriorating after the age of 30.

As for me, right after we reached our first anniversary and there's no sign of being pregnant, I started to see a doctor at company's panel clinic.

The doctor started with questioning me and hubby regarding our family background and lifestyle. Some questions that I can recall ( Wow..super mind I have!)..

a. When did you get married? (biasa lah..)
b. Do you smoke?
c. Any history on family with fertility problem?
d. Your period cycle

So..the first thing to check was the level of LH and FSH for the woman..ME! Okay now comes the medical jargon. LH refers to Luteinizing hormone and FSH is Follicle-stimulating hormone.

How to do that? Blood sample of course!

Wow..the entry is getting longer. Maybe I should stop now and continue this later. There's a lot more coming up..

Staycation

I seriously have no idea on what to blog today, and of course yesterday..hehe..thus the lack of post.

So, being the bored me..I browse through the Merriam-Webster online dictionary..(hoho..I'm becoming more 'nerdy' every minute..)

And I came across this new word ( for me its new lah) :
Main Entry:
stay·ca·tion
Pronunciation
\ˈstā-ˈkā-shən\
Function:
noun
Etymology:
blend of stay and vacation
Date:
2005
: a vacation spent at home or nearby
stay·ca·tion·er\stā-ˈkā-sh(ə-)nər\ noun

Emm..maybe I should put this as weekly post..a new word a week..not a day..

Ya Haji!

That's my little Haji in white kopiah..konon2 buat muka alim..hahahaha..

See..see.. how can this little angel face aka milk sucker can be the one and the same little person? And how can I resist his demand for mummy's milk? How..how..?

Both of us, me and hubby were really amazed at the rate he's growing now..his mind works wonder too!! Mcm boleh logical thinking gitu..Some of the things that I need to jot down here about his progress.

PROBLEM 1:
He's on his push car which his little foot cannot reach the floor. So he cannot move the car unless WE push him right? So what did he do?

SOLVE 1:
He 'sengetkan' his body so that ONE of his foot can reach the floor. So he managed to push himself!!

PROBLEM 2:
He don't like the feel of grass when he sat on the grass. To push himself up, he needs to use his hand kan?

SOLVE 2 :
Its just happen that there's a hose lying on the grass in U-shape, near him. Put his hand on the hose, still can feel the grass. So now he pushed the hose near to each other and walla..no more grass and he happily pushed himself up!

PROBLEM 3:
Split level between my kitchen and dining. He would surely fall if he walked over it.

SOLVE 3(a) : Get down and crawl.
SOLVE 3(b): Find the nearest door/cupboard, and hold on to it and slowly stepped over the split level.

Oh I'm so proud of you dear..!!

Something to Ponder Upon...

I received this inspirational piece from an email and I thought to share with you all out there.
Some of us may have came across this before, but what the heck..just read on will ya!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
George Carlin

Ouch! Ouch!Ouch!

What seems to be the pain?

Its breastfeeding time! Its becoming quite a torture nowadays.

My nips have become sore..huhuhu..not cracked but still its painful. I guess this came from the power of suckling from my not-so-little milk sucker..!! The weekend would be the most painful time..because he would be happily suckling away because Mummy is always around.

You Are Not Alone...

I know I'm way too late to post about MJ @ Mikaeel. I heard on the radio this morning that 8TV would be showing his funeral at 1 a.m. tonight.

May his soul rest in Peace..Insya- Allah.

BTW here is one of my favorite songs from MJ:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You Are Not Alone"

Another day has gone
I'm still all alone
How could this be
You're not here with me
You never said goodbye
Someone tell me why
Did you have to go
And leave my world so cold

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

But you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
But you are not alone

'Lone, 'lone
Why, 'lone

Just the other night
I thought I heard you cry
Asking me to come
And hold you in my arms
I can hear your prayers
Your burdens I will bear
But first I need your hand
Then forever can begin

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
For you are not alone

Whisper three words and I'll come runnin'
And girl you know that I'll be there
I'll be there

You are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay
For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

For you are not alone...
