Milk-A-Deal : DFChannel Photography Review

I managed to secure a voucher from Milk-A-Deal promotions somewhere in Feb. My one hour session was booked around mid Mac. And we chose Taman Tasik Perdana (out of three places given) cause I thought maybe after the photo shoot we could extend the day to nearby Bird Park.

So here are some of the snapshots from the session.

Urghh..i Look F-A-T
Overall, for the price that we paid ( RM 42 if I'm not mistaken), I think it worth that much. But the experience that we got is something that I would not want to do it again.. hahaha..I mean it feels like we were on marathon all that time.
  • We were a bit unlucky I guess because the weather on that day was not on our side. Even though its raining, I was practically sweating all over!
  • The place that we chose too was not very conducive either, there were lots of mosquitoes and my hubby was more concerned on that than posing in front of the camera. And no, we didn't managed to go to the Bird Park after all.
  • It is one hour session, and Nazif took sometime to warm up to the photographer. So most of his pictures were 'not in the mood', 'masam', and clingy.
So, based on that experience I would simply recommend these for those who would want to take outdoor photos with children and babies on tow:
  • Go for a CHILD Photographer. In my case, I have done before with Littlestori Photgraphy. And so far I enjoyed the session because we were very laid back and no rush!
  • You can plan ahead on the type of props you want to bring. It feels more personal.
  • The photographer knows how to tackle children. That's the most important thing.
Overall, the service is OK.

Why Mummy Needs to Know Marmet Technique

That's because my faithful FS backfired on me yesterday..not the machine though. Its the soft fit breastshield. It got hole in it, resulting in less suction power. I had to manually expressed the milk just to avoid being so engorged..shish..I can't believe I actually wrote this. But the result was incomparable to using the machine itself because of lack of skills.

So, kesimpulannya, we have to learn the Marmet Technique. In case for emergency when your breast pump is not around, this skill comes in handy.

Ops, back to my malfunctioned breastshield. Luckily, my FS came with spare breastshields, but not the soft fit type. But the unlucky thing was, the spare parts were at my parent's home!! Uwaa..stress..stress..

But then, I AM SO LUCKY again cause my BELOVED SISTER had willing-fully came down all the way from Sban to send me the spare parts! Love you loads ! Muahs..and my mom too!

Weekend in History

If my sister marks her daughter's fallen tooth last week, well my son made his own history as well.

By wetting our bed!!

So, another pile of laundry to be cleaned, the bedsheets, the mattress protector, airing the mattress etc..tak pasal2 jer..all because we forgot to put on his diaper that night.

Then, I found cockroaches inside my son's toy box..euuwww..so another round of cleaning and 'dettoling' the toys. Luckily the sun was on the bright side, well until about 3 pm. But enough to dry most of my additional laundry. Then it rains! Cats and dogs!

Mind you, this is 1/3 of the treasures..

Right after the rain, we made our way to the lake park for a dose of exercise. For me walking is enough for the time being. That's because I got one boy strapped neatly to me for additional calories burning, hehe. Well that was another history as well, because that was Naqib's first visit to the park.

Nazif the StoryTeller

Nazif is not just a Drama King, he's the story teller as well.

For example, yesterday when we were watching Top Chef, one guy was holding a 'landak laut'..

Tu ape tu Mummy? Hitam!
Err...Landak laut..see..body dia tajam..
Oh..tajam..nnt cucuk tgn kan..
Yer..
Nanti, tangan darah kan..
Yer..
Aaaa..eeii..tangan darah..jumpa doktor..nanti doktor cucuk..
Dr bagi ubat lah..
Nanti..baring..doctor..cucuk..aaa..sakit..
Yer..
Haa...baring..lepas tu MATI!!!

Adehlaa..Nazif..sampai ke mati ko pikir yer...INSAF Mummy dia sekejap..

Being Fair

~ The future which we hold in trust for our own children will be shaped by our fairness to other people`s children. ~
Marian Wright Edelman

~ Live so that when your children think of fairness and integrity, they think of you. ~
H Jackson Brown ,Jr
Taken from : Finest Quotes

As a mother, I really wish when both of my sons grow up and have their own personalities and traits I will not be judgmental on them. Now I can say, I love them both equally though the treatment they received may not be equal and fair.

Work wise, I can simply hope and do my best. At the end of the day, everybody wish to be evaluated fairly based on their efforts and results. But being human, fairness is subjective and not everybody would satisfied with the end results.

Ultraman

Its Nazif current OBSESSION since I was in confinement. And me as the Mummy are already at the edge of puking at the image of Ultraman and the gang. Tolong..!! Tolong!!

The first thing in the morning when hubby tucked him in the car to the nursery, he would asked for his ultraman 'kecik'.

The first thing in the evening when I reached home after work, he would asked for Ipad. He would watched his ultraman through youtube. Mind you, he knew just how to find when I'm busy with other things..through youtube history! So yesterday, to limit his time watching the ultraman video, I secretly hide the Ipad...

There's ultraman cosmo, taro, tiga..even ultraman jahat..At first I thought isn't Ultraman supposed to be the good ones? So I googled..there was Evil Ultraman..

I had lost count on how many Ultraman figures that his Daddy had bought for him..there's small, big, the loud ones..but mostly had disfigured. Hummm..should have thrown them..ASAP!  Last night, he managed to 'pow' another set of Ultraman from his daddy..haih..I think hubby had reached his limits too!! And there's also countless sticker books on Ultraman. Luckily he didn't asked for baju ultraman or beg ultraman or bottled water ultraman...Ngeeee!!

The latest, he said he wanted Ultraman cake for his birthday. Huwaaaa....!!!

Oh dear, when will this Ultraman phase stop?

Random Monday

We had an early weekend, due to Naqib not being well. He was down with fever, my guess its because of his jab a few days back. And then, Mummy too was not very well with running nose and cough. *Sigh*..

Oh well, on the other hand, Nazif turned 34 months yesterday..I think I'll stop writing monthly basis about him..the updates could be anytime he reached the milestones or when something new came out. For now, he still poop in the diapers..Mummy still takleh nak saikokan dia poopo kat toilet..

This is the usual conversation we had whenever he said he wanted to go to 'sekolah'

Nazif      : Mummy Ajip nak pegi sekolah besar... ( sekolah besar for Nazif is the kindergarten..)
Mummy  : Boleh...tapi Nazif kena u-uk kat toilet tau kalo nak pegi sekolah..
Nazif      : Macam Abg Azeem , Kakak Alysa kan? Kan? U-uk toilet kan.. ( his cousins)
Mummy : Ye..mcm Abg Azeem , mcm Kakak Alysa..nnt kat school sapa nak pakaikan pampers? Kan? Kan?
Nazif     : Yee..Ajif u-uk kat toilet kan?
Mummy : Ye..kita u-uk toiletlah lps ni kan..ok? Tadi kan Nazif u-uk pakai pampers?
Nazif     :  Mana ada!! ( Dgn muka tak bersalah..seriously..)

Dinos Alive!!

Last Saturday, we went to see Pai-da-sore!! Nazif was really excited when we first told him we gonna watch dinosaurs. He kept telling ' Ajip tak takut pai-da-sore kan , Mummy?'

Muka excited nak tengok pai-da-sore!!

Adik Naqib yang cool, start jalan je terus lelap..

We were here!!
For your information, the entrance fee is RM 10 per adult and RM 5 per children aged 4-12 years; under 4 is free!! So, we just paid RM 20 for the tickets and the parking is free too.

The famous T-Rex..
The crowds were unbelievable! Most of them were children of course. And how about Nazif, when he saw the crowds and an ocean of people? Berdukung je lah jawapnya!!

Muka Nazif yang takut tengok T-Rex!
Adik Naqib yang blur je tengok all those Dinos..he's just happy to be carried around!

Happy again!!
Actually the exhibition was on two levels. But my camera's battery went kaput right after we went into the discovery and learn section (the above picture). There were a lot more dinos on the second floor, but Nazif was too scared when we enter the place ( because its dark too)..so went through really fast on that level.

In short, it was rather interesting visit, the dinos and the Pusat Sains itself. The Dino exhibition will be there until end of May, or is it extended to June?

Take Care

Another catastrophe; ie earthquake befall Japan and this time Mexico..but this time luckily there's no figure of dead person.

Umm...our earth is 'old', so this is all part and parcel of the sign its giving us..flood, earthquake, extreme hotness and the likes. Just like our body, after some time, one by one of its bodily system started to malfunction. And so is our mother Earth..

Ok enough of my ramblings. The point is take care of yourself and your family and things surrounding you. Happy weekend!!

Inspirational : A 'Hard' Lesson

I received this email from a colleague and I'd like to share with you.

******
This is a powerful message in our modern society. We seemed to have lost our bearings & our sense of direction.

One, young, academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview. The director who did the last interview, made the last decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research. He never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" The youth answered "none".

The director asked, " Was it your father who paid for your school fees?" The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old. It was my mother who paid for my school fees."
The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" The youth answered, "My mother worked as a clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked, " Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me."
The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands and then see me tomorrow morning."

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange,  but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to her son.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tears fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled and that there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes every day to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes and asked, " Can you tell me what  you did and learned yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hands, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes.'

The Director asked, " Please tell me your feelings."

The youth said, Number 1, I know now the meaning of appreciation. Without my mother, there would not be the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only now I realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said, " This is what I am looking for in my new  manager.
I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. Son,you are hired."
Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been over protected and habitually given whatever he or she  wanted, would develop the entitlement mentality and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. This kind of person, may be good academically and may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel a sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more.
If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?*

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat  good meals, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let him experience it. After a meal, let him wash his plates and bowls together with his brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love him in the right way. You want him to understand, no matter how rich his parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young man . The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

The chosen one = 4
Alhamdulilah = 5
Barakallah = 10

So whenever he saw number one, it will be..'Mummy ni Insya-Allah kan'...

* Mummy dah salah ajaran ke anak oiii???*

Naqib Turns 7 Months

Happy 7 months young Naqib!!

As of today, you have tasted a few food purees that I have prepared; rice, carrot, apple, sweet potato and pears. And your favorite so far is the apple puree!! It seems that you are totally different from your big brother when it comes to eating position. You prefer to be in laying position instead of sitting in your Bumbo.

On the roll over part, you have shown a great progress..dah boleh sikit..altho tangan tersepit sikit..but if you are on tummy position, you managed to turn yourself 360 degree..ehehe.alhamdullilah on that. And you have a quick hands too when reaching things on the table. Yesterday, you grab a hold on daddy's mug and spilled the water!

On the vocal part..chewahh..the words so far are babahhh..and mmaaamaa...and sometimes abaamm..(refers to nazif)..

But, when is your cough is going to subside? Dah tak tau nak pantang apa dah on my part..

Challenge!!

This month, there'll be a new challenge for me, in term of work wise.

More decisions have to be made,to choose the path that could eventually polished my potential and to give me the satisfaction.

Serious je bunyi kan??

So, sempena hari Jumaat yang penuh barakah ini..let's pray so that everything will turned out for the best. For me, for family and also for my friends.
