Corn..Corn Go Away..

Its not corn the fruit..

Its the corn or should i put it plural CORNS under my right toe..haiyahh..its getting worse by day.

What is Corn?
A corn or callus are areas of thickened skin that occur in areas of pressure. They are actually a normal and natural way for the body to protect itself.

From :http://www.epodiatry.com/corns-callus.htm

I first detected when I was pregnant. It was not painful at all, that's why I just ignore them. Suddenly walla! Dah 'beranak-pinak'.. instead of ONE, it is now FIVE small dots..but it still corns! Its ugly!

How to get rid of them? I've tried the corn solution bought at Guardian. But the problem is, it contains acid which will also eat away my healthy skin around the corn. Thus I stopped using them for a while. Tried picking/slicing it, still the roots is still there. I'm too afraid to slice it too deep.

Remedies such as corn paint, cure or plasters will generally only treat the symptom of the corn and not the problem that causes it. These chemicals contain acid that are supposed to 'eat away' the corn, but the chemical can not tell what is corn and what is normal - it will eat what ever you put it on.--> No wonder all my skin mengelupas!

Maybe
I should try what my mother recommended. GARLIC!

I'm Just a Mother

I stumbled upon this story from this homemaker blog. Very, very interesting..read on!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few months ago, when I was picking up the children at school, another mother I knew rushed up to me. She was fuming with indignation.

“Do you know what you and I are?” she demanded.

Before I could answer~and I didn’t really have one handy~she blurted out the reason for her question. It seemed she had just returned from renewing her driver’s license at the County Clerk’s office. Asked by the woman recorder to state her “occupation,” she had hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

“What I mean is,” explained the recorder, “Do you have a job, or are you just a ….?”

“Of course I have a job.” she snapped. “I’m a mother.”

“We don’t list ‘mother’ as an occupation…’housewife’ covers it,” said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day when I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career woman. poised, efficient, and possessed of a high-sounding title, like “Official Interrogator” or “Town Registrar.”

“And what is your occupation?” she probed.

What made me say it, I do not know. The words simply popped out. “I’m…a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations.”

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair, and looked up as though she had not heard right. I repeated the title slowly, emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pompous pronouncement was written in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

“Might I ask,” said the clerk with new interest,”just what you do in your field?”

Coolly, without a trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply,”I have a continuing program of research (what mother doesn’t) in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out). I’m working for my Masters (the whole darned family) and already have four credits (all daughters).

Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities (any mother care to disagree?) and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most.

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk’s voice as she completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants~age 13, 7, and 3. And upstairs, I could hear our new experimental model (six months) in the child-development program, testing out a new vocal pattern.

I felt triumphant. I had scored a beat on bureaucracy. And I had gone down on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than “just another….” Home…what a glorious career. Especially when there’s a title on the door.

**From Chicken Soup for the Soul
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh how I miss reading Chicken Soup book. Should go and find one and treat myself with Mom's edition for this coming Mother's day. The one that I had in my collection was for the Couple's soul. What else? MPH , here I come!

Narrow Escape

So not feeling well today..

N'ways just wanna jot down on what happened last weekend. I'm thankful that Allah still permit me and my family to live and breathe in this world..Sound scary huh?

Indeed it was scary, and too good to be true.

The scenario:
In KL, we were on the way to SOGO;I can't remember the exact name of the road, we were stopping at the traffic light. We were right behind a small one tonne lorry, when hubby suddenly changed lane. Just after we changed lane, we heard a loud sound , something like someone's throwing a pile of sands on top of our car.

Lo and behold !...it was a big tree just fallen right behind us..can you just imagine if we stayed behind the lorry? We would definitely be squashed down! Alhamdulillah Ya Allah!

Looking for the 'IT' bag

The last time I got a new handbag was in 2007..duhhh..its been a long time. And they were purchased during hubby's visit to US.

Now my heart is like meronta-ronta for a new bag...huhu..I specifically want the BLACK one. Call me bored..hehe..but I just love black or any neutral colors like brown and beige...I'm not that adventurers in wearing colored bags..plus its hard to match with outfit. I'm still in love with C**ch but I don't mind other brand as well..

Umm..nak carik bag..nak carik bag..

Flowers and Stripes

Last weekend was spent in tranquility..chewah..(flowery punya ayat). On Saturday, we went for a birthday party, and for dinner me and hubs treated the whole family plus Maksu's family ; to a steamboat dinner. --> My dear sistah Liyana, sorry you had to miss it..later2 I blanja ok? ( I know you are reading this..hahahaha)

On Sunday, we had a dose of house-cleaning..not my me but by our monthly maid! Wah, my house is really spanky clean! Also we had people from Macy came for curtains installation for the bedrooms. Later on, people from another curtain shop came to measure sliding door and small window at our living. We chose a combination of those fabrics above to suit our current furnitures..FLOWERs to represent me..and STRIPES for hubby (he specifically request it).

On more happy notes, my little boy is finally teething! Two little pearly buds have made their debut exactly a day after he turned 10 months! So far no biting drama yet..hopefully takde lah..Ok lastly I'll leave you with this 'budak-masam-baru-bgn-tido' in the 'it' action (tgh nak melabur...) hahaha..naughty Mummy. Please Nazif don't get mad at me ok?

In My Daughter's Eyes ( In my case, a Son)

I was browsing through mp3 files collection and I came upon this song by Martina McBride. I first heard it in Oprah Show a few years back, and my the lyrics really brought me to tears. It was beautiful and at that time I am not yet pregnant. Thus I was a bit emotional, I guess.

In My Daughter's Eyes - Martina McBride

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

But now, there's a lot to be thankful for. Altho this song is for a daughter but having a son it makes no different. I dedicate this song to all mummies out there!

10 Months Young

For his 10th monthly birthday, Nazif would like to make a post today..so here goes the 'speech',

Hello !
I am so happy today because Mummy said I turned 10 months ...actually I don't know how to count yet, but I'll just listen to what Mummy said, so 10 it is.

That's me, smiling for Mummy's camera. Mummy likes to put me in the cot while she and Daddy get ready to work. Actually I prefer Mummy to cuddle and play with me when I woke up, that's why I like to cry for Mummy's or Daddy's attention.

Ooo..Mummy said to write about my achievement..what is achievement?

I know that I'm getting heavier. Last time I heard the Dr told Mummy that I'm already 8.6 kg. Mummy still cannot carry me around like she used to, her tummy still hurt sometimes. That's why Daddy will always carry me around. Ooo..I like cars, be it daddy's car or the F1 toy car. I like to play with the steering wheel too.

I am still toothless, but I like to eat! Mummy still cook my porridge and sent it to the nursery. Sometimes I ate the food from the jar, but I don't really like it. But I love it when Mummy or Daddy allow me to 'taste' adult food, and that's why I gave them my flirtatious eye blinking to show them that I truly like it. Oh I also can wave bye-bye now. This is what I do when say my goodbye when Mummy and Daddy pick me up from the nursery.

I'm good in house-keeping too you see..I like to take out my toys and toiletries from their baskets. When I see magazines at the coffee table I get excited! You know how I love to read..that's why I took out one by one magazines that has been arranged by Mummy..

Ok, I'm getting tired here no wonder, its quite a long post..I think that will be enough. Bye!

The Big-B

Finally, the much awaited news has been announced and I can't wait for this Friday! Alhamdullilah for the rezeki..not that much tho, but looking at the bright side, I am thankful for being given this much. Ye lah, looking at our economy downside, this amount of bonus was very much appreciated.

*So, lepas ni bolehla berkirai duit gi shopping..yahoo!!

Two cute little rascals

This is Nazif and Hilman, at Gee's house last weekend in Muar. They are both about the same age, Hilman is slightly older with 3 weeks gap with Nazif. Gee and me used to be roommates during our uni days and remains best friends till today. We found out that we were both pregnant with one month gap of due date, thus we were ecstatic!

Oh, don't be fooled, Hilman is much taller than Nazif in real life..heheh..tu dia tersquat down when the picture was taken. You should these two when they both met..both of them we like 'terkinja-kinja', very excited and babbles in their own language. Aaawww..it was a bliss..and they both are toothless, no sign of tooth yet, hehehe...what else did they share? Oh ya, they both came out to this world through 'tingkap'..C-sect la tuh..

Blast From the Past II

In my previous post I was wandering where my school has been relocated? And I got my answer from one of fellow blogger who has kindly dropped a comment in my previous post.

But I didn't mention what happened to the old site. Wonder what?

Its so happened, I was watching 'Warung Kita' at Astro Prima last Friday and walla..I found what happened to my old skool!

It is now called Kopitiam Convent! Ha-ha-ha..

But the host made my air liur meleleh lagi when he ate apam lenggang..yum..yum..

Blast from the Past

Ever since I came back from the North, I've been bitten by the nostalgic bug..hehehe

The symptoms so far are
1) Search for my best friend when I was in primary, able to find not just one but a few, as usual in facebook..

2) I had a dream. In that dream I sang the old school song..hahaha..and I mean really sang it..

Listen to our motto
Guiding us as we go
Simple in my virtue
Steadfast in my Work..

Haa..haa..haa

Steadfast in my work Yes
No matter how hard
How can you win success
If you never try
Though you stumble often
Never be down heart
Try and try again
Yes you'll succeed at last

Haa..haaa..haa..

Let the school motto
Guide you as you go!

Well that's how I remembered it, maybe slack here and there..arrhhh..time just flew away aren't they?

Oo..yeah by the way which primary school that I attended? Its St Nicholas Convent, Alor Setar. Last time it used to be opposite the now Menara Alor Setar, but it has been relocated to dunno-where.

Little Boy on Wheels

As usual, this mummy will always want to show off his son..ehehe..so bear with me and this little model..

Ngeng..ngeng..

I'm the little charmer..

This thing got no wheels la mummy..

Aaaa..this one is funny la Daddy..but I loike!!

As of today, I have yet to capture Nazif behind the REAL wheel..he totally loves it when Daddy put him at the car's steering wheel. He will automatically reached for the wiper, signals and of course the car's horn. Yang menjadi mangsa adalah Mummy when he pulls the water pump of the wipers , habis basah!

Betcha, sooner or later he will able to start the car's ignition. Looks like he takes after his Daddy when it comes to cars..

Back From The North

It was sure a tiring trip..

My baby is now down with fever..sian anak Mummy..

However, most of the items planned was executed successfully..hehehe

First, a trip to Pasar Pagi in Kulim to search for rm 10 tudungs and also for northern delicacies that used to be my favourites during my growing up time. So mama and me went 'wild' with some tudungs and we managed to grab apam lenggang, nasi lemak 60 sen (yeah, and its a lot!), kuih dangai, etc..the only thing that cannot be found was the Pulut Sambal..and guess what the food only cost us about rm 6 and managed to feed 6 adults! Sorry there's no picture as we were really hungry by the time we reached tok's house.

Then, we went further north to Alor Setar to visit my Tok Nab which used to be my pengasuh when I was small. Then, another visits to a relative and Mama's friend. Lastly, before we headed back to Kulim, a pit stop at Joned's Cafe for a dash of Char Koey Tiaw and Koey Tiaw Special..sorry also no pictures..hehehe..

Lastly, a mengurut session in the morning before going back to KL...haaa..my body felt a little bit lighter although my stomach was excluded from the massage..on the way, we dropped by my sister's house in Shah Alam for a late lunch..

And today, we did the laundry and just relaxing around the house..tending to my sick baby..ok..want to watch to F1 now..

April Fool? Not?

Its April ! Woohooo..

Nowadays, April Fool is nothing special, its just as any ordinary day..
But back in secondary, when we were the first formers, its the day that most of just scared of the seniors..WHY?

When the clock strikes midnight, the seniors would pay visits to their respective juniors to 'decorate' their dorms at its inhabitants..

Hehe.. I remembered, in Yellow house our dorm was decorated to theme of Pirate..yeah..we got water being splashed onto the floor with some detergents..our face being painted with shoe chalk, shampooed,Our slippers were strewn across the field, and many more. I can't recalled much, but overall it was a Night to remember. At that time it was something that we detested, but now when I looked upon the memory it was something that I cherished. However when we were seniors these things were already banned by the school..due to juniors yg manja..well its your lost then!

Haih..syok plak teringat zaman skool..Well girlfriends, did you remember our April Fool back then??

I leave you with my son, being 'decorated' by mummy!

What is this thing on my head??
