Playing with Plasticine aka Clay

Last weekend, we bought Nazif his first set of clay tools. I've been meaning to buy this a long time ago, but keep on holding back..bad me..hehehe...since these cousin now really can play together, I tried to create beneficial activities for them..instead of just those fighting2..ultraman thingy..hehehe. Last time we had water color sessions, this time its clay session. I plan to do a cooking session plak..but have to check what to cook? Depends on the things that we have at my mom's kitchen/my kitchen/sister' kitchen..hehehe..

Children that are old enough to squeeze your finger can squeeze a piece of soft clay. If they can notice a change in the clay, they are learning that their actions have consequences.  This encourages more experimentation. The child’s brain is taking shape along with the clay.  Such self-initiated activity can be the perfect match for the developmental needs of the child.  Clay stimulates the child’s curiosity. Intelligence, imagination, and creativity are engaged and fostered.  Many new neurons and synapses in the brain are being generated when a child is engaged by the immediate tactile and visual feedback provided by clay.
